The eyes of the shy character peep out from the egg. I made eyes and hands on both sides so that the egg’s expression can be seen from both aspects. The four hands indicate the direction of movement around the form of the egg tracing a continuous figure-of-eight. The space within the sculpture made a single casting impossible, so the foundry had to halve the clay model to make two separate moulds. I then rejoined the two waxes during detailing.
